Heritage Interactive designed a series of innovative interactive exhibits for the Body Voyager Exhibition. This included an AR app, standalone digital challenges and filmed interviews with surgeons and patients.

By working closely with the exhibition designers during the concept phase, we were able to help define the focus of the digital exhibits and the nature of the visitor interaction, ensuring that the medium fitted the message.

Our AR app offers an additional layer of interpretation in this thought-provoking exhibition, allowing users to interact with the displays using their own mobile devices.

For those who don’t have a smartphone, the app is made available on tablets positioned within the gallery.

Following discovery markers on the floor, the visitor can simply point their phone or tablet at the surgical robot to trigger a wealth of additional content and bringing movement to the otherwise static displays.

The app also collects visitor responses to a series of questions. By merging the online and offline (gallery) databases we are able to collate real-time responses and play these back to the visitor so they can see how others have voted on the same issues.

We also produced a series of in-gallery digital games.

The Tremor interactive challenges visitors to see if their hands are as steady as those of a surgical robot.

Our joystick neurosurgery game explores scale and accuracy, showing the impact magnification can have on the precision of delicate surgical procedures.

“We have worked with Heritage Interactive over two large projects and are delighted with the result.

From initial design to testing and delivery I have found them to be innovative, reliable and committed to their projects. Once the project is complete, HI are excellent at ensuring that their systems are maintained and upgraded when required.”
