Working closely with the Museum’s curatorial team and their exhibition designers, we developed a suite of digital, AV and audio exhibits to tell the story of the Royal Mail’s history.
In our Mail Coach game, the visitor takes on the role of a mail coach guard from the 1800s – navigating their way through a number of challenges. Given a lack of archive assets and the client’s desire to capture a sense of drama, we worked with a Marvel comics artist to present this game as an interactive comic strip with multiple choice questions at each stage.
For this projected AV we sourced a combination of still and moving imagery to work alongside their ‘Angel of Death’ motorcycle display. To help create more atmosphere we also featured period music taken from original 78” records that were out of copyright.
This interactive game challenges visitors to collect the mail from around the local area and deliver it to the station before the train departs.
To capture the community spirit of the post bus we based route details on original timetables and worked with a GPO volunteer to research real-life scenarios for the gameplay.
